  This was our third New Year’s at 541 9th Street and it was just as wonderful as the first! Key Colony Beach is the perfect location to the water, walking/biking, watching the sunset, and close to several restaurants. The house is very well-stocked with everything you could think of. The pool is heated and there is plenty of outdoor seating. The back porch is our favorite part of the property. We ate every home meal on the porch, never once sitting indoors, and had many game nights outside! The outdoor speakers and lighting created the perfect ambience! We can’t recommend this location enough!

  We enjoyed the home and pool very much. Cozy and comfy. We spent a great deal of our time in the furnished screened in porch and listened to the stereo Bluetooth speakers. Loved it.
  Minor issues are the throw rugs in the kitchen are in desperate need of replacing. The toilet in the main bath is not functioning properly, and the automatic watering system slams on the front windows early in the morning. The screened porch needs attention to cleaning. Placemats out there are rotten.

  Private, comfortable place. The pool was wonderful. The beds were comfy. Loved the lights out back. Used the screen porch most of the time.
  We always go to Key Colony Inn on our first night to celebrate. Only suggestion is to maybe put in underwater lights to watch the fish.

  Beautiful home in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. This is the place to come with family or friends! The house is well appointed and the beds are super comfortable.   We loved this house. The layout was excellent, the construction was solid and almost everything in the house was high quality. The pool was wonderful and we used the screen porch often during the day and for dinner. The setting, with palm trees and well-manicured lawn, contributed to the relaxed atmosphere and was much different than most of the houses on the same street. The dock space was adequate for the 22-foot boat we rented for the week. The neighborhood was very quiet yet we were a 3-minute drive from Marathon's main drag. Lots of good restaurants within a short drive. (Hint: Don't believe the mixed reviews for El Molcajete, the Mexican restaurant in Key Colony Beach. We loved their tostadas al pastor, churrasco, chicken mole and tres leches cake). The lagoon is in an excellent location; it took us less than 5 minutes to get to the bay via Vaca Cut or to the open ocean in the other direction. It's about 30 minute boat ride to Sombrero reef, one of the best reefs for snorkeling in the Keys. There are also a few sand bars 20 minutes by boat for floating and lazing in the beautiful turquoise water of the ocean.
  
  The only negative about this house is that the mattress in the master bedroom has a major sag on one side. This made it difficult for me to sleep. I also had back pain in the morning if I didn't move to another bedroom in the middle of the night. I noticed that another reviewer also commented on this. This is an easy fix. This is the only thing that keeps me from giving this house 5 stars on all categories.

  The perfect short stroll from kitchen through beautiful and large screened porch to the peaceful pool. House is great for 4-6 people, spent most of our time around the pool and fishing off the boat dock. Great neighborhood and close to everything. Have rented many houses over the years but this one was just right.

  The house was fine. Areas that we liked were the screened in porch, pool and the laundry room ( odd I know).
  The beds and sheets are awful. The master bed is probably the worst bed I have ever slept in. The sheets do not stay on the bed at all and the mattress is very uncomfortable . My son slept in the other king and said it was fine.
  The outdoor area has no lighting at night. It would have been nice to sit outside after it got dark. Really no charm or ambiance at night because the outside becomes completely unusable with the lack of lighting.
  The dock area is nice.
  The low rating is simply because the master bed and bedding are so bad.
