This beautifully decorated 4 bedroom, 4 bath half-duplex has what you need to enjoy your vacation. There are 3 TVs in the unit, one of which is a 42" plasma. The 12 x 16 heated PRIVATE POOL is right out back to relax after a day of fishing. There is a total of 37' of dockage at the wooden dock which has water and a fish cleaning table with a sink. The garage is available for guest use. The golf course and tennis courts are located on 8th street also and just a short walk from the front door of this property. The playground is just around the corner on 7th street. The weekly rent is $3450.00 for 10 maximum. No pets allowed. | | Key Colony Beach is located at MM 53.5 at the northern end of Marathon. The Islands of Marathon span about 15 miles in the Middle Keys, halfway between Key West and Key Largo. The historic Island of Pigeon Key is located at the north end of the 7-mile bridge with its 65-foot high span. The bridge offers easy access to the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Ocean. | | The Island of Marathon is a bird watcher's paradise - spot roseate spoonbills, bald eagles, great blue herons, and much more native to the region.   We had a wonderful stay here. This place is very spacious and comfortable.The outside veranda and pool are like a private oasis. Enjoyed golf course and park games. Centrally located to visit Key Wesr, Bahia Honda, Sombrero Beach etc Could use a few more dishes.

  This is our second year of renting this unit during the beginning of lobster season. It is spacious and kept up very well. Only two minor complaints that we had, one is that there are no lights on the dock, and we do a lot of bully netting for lobsters. The other is that there was not adequate toilet paper in the unit (small but important issue). Other than that it fits our needs perfectly, and we would certainly recommend it to anyone.

  We absolutely love this place. Great location, easy boataccess to Atlantic and Gulf. Updates s8nce last year..new appliances, new seawall boards, and new seawall bumpers. The only negative is that the pool is way too warm. It was 95 degrees and not refreshing. We will be booking our next trip here next week.

  We had a great week in Key Colony! There were 8 adults and our 9 month old grandson and there was plenty of room. Check in and check out were easy and they communicated well so there was no waiting or confusion. We had an issue with the Wifi and they were on top of it. Tyler even offered to stay at the house for us after work to wait for Comcast. The location was great from Miami and from Key West airports. There were 5 bikes all with flat tires but we borrowed a pump and they were good to go. I would definitely rent this house again for my family but it could use just a few updates. The refrigerator and the grill could use updating. Other than that everything was great!

  Overall the unit was very adequate. It was clean and roomy for the four of us My only minor complaint is there was no lighting on the dock and we were out in the dark with the boat every night and it made it difficult to come and go in the dark. That makes boating or fishing off the dock in the evening difficult. The appliances are dated but adequate. I would recommend it even with these issues because of the size and location of the unit. We had a ball there!

  Great location for fishing and boating around Marathon. Rental worked well for the eight people we had. Pool, bait freezer, and cleaning table were a nice feature. Units appliances show wear as you would expect in a rental but they all work fine. Already looking to book again for next year.

  We have stayed in this home a couple of times (one time on the other side of the duplex). The house is great but getting a bit run down and in need of work. I wish I could come back and do some of the tasks myself! I notified CaseyElliot of a few issues we encountered, One of which we fixed while there. The one french door on the right side had a broken handle so we switched it out. Other issues:
  No soap of any kind, or any toilet paper or paper towels whatsoever.
  Dock is in bad shape, loose boards are dangerous, rusty nails sticking out, old hose nozzle is sharp and broken.
  Grill outside was out of gas but also rusted and old falling apart.
  The floors were very dirty upon arrival.
  
  I love the house and the location. I hope the owner does some maintenance on the home.

  The vacation home in Key Colony Beach was described accurately. The home is well-kept, clean and had a great layout. We enjoying having the private pool in the backyard. The kitchen was furnished well and the gas grill was clean. The neighborhood is quiet. The house had bicycles which we used every day. Make sure to visit the neighborhood’s Sunset Park for the beautiful sunsets and sing-a-long to the islands of Marathon.

  We had 8 adults in our party. The place didn't have enough dinner plates for all of us. we had to buy paper plates. The closet doors are falling off every room. They need updated. The pool was filthy. We cleaned it ourselves. We requested the 2 twin beds be pushed together to make a King bed, they said yes but didn't do it. We asked for King bed sheets when we got there and they never responded. Terrible service.

  This was a nice sized home that fit our party of 7 nicely. Comfortable, we mostly just slept here. We were on the boat all day and ate out at night. Kitchen was adequate but we only used the fridge and coffee pot. My only complaint was that it really could use a deep cleaning. Which is hard when you are flipping houses between rentals. The outside needs pressure washed, there is black grime on everything. Overall it was a nice home with great access to both the gulf and Atlantic

  Very roomy place. We had 9 people and were not crowded at all. Pool was a great place to end the day. Location was good to be able to travel to both ends of the Keys We visited many sites between Key West and Key Largo in a reasonable amount of time. Only had to call realty once because we had trouble opening the lock box. They responded right away and were very helpful. We will be back.
  Started our trip with Dinner at Key Largo Conch House on the way in. Food was delicious.
  Breakfast at the Wooden Spoon. Great Breads to take back for desert. We spent a day in Key West riding scooters, starting with breakfast at Harpoon Harry's. Great Key Lime Pie French Toast. If you can't get to Bahia Honda, try some other beaches. Sombrero Beach was a nice place to swim and kayak. We dove at Horseshoe Beach. It is a nice place to see fish (Not a reef). Good for first time divers to practice skills. John Pennekamp State Park is also a nice place to swim. Diving there we saw many lobsters in the wall. A school of tarpon swam by too. Cannons from a ship wreck are also in shallow water. Try the local beers. Islamorada Brewing and Florida Keys Brewing have some very interesting flavors. Sours, IPAs, Ales, Stouts and more. We had a great time.

  Rented 1/2 a duplex, was exactly as described/pictures on website. Was clean, had all amenities. Needed some minor repair and maintenance (light bulbs out, grout in shower, broken towel bar, fan blades dusted, air conditioning vents cleaned). Had a wonderful week and would definitely come back!
