Key Colony Beach is located at MM 53.5 at the northern end of Marathon. The Islands of Marathon span about 15 miles in the Middle Keys, halfway between Key West and Key Largo. The historic Island of Pigeon Key is located at the north end of the 7 Mile Bridge with its 65-foot high span. The bridge offers easy access to the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Ocean.

The Islands of Marathon are a bird watcher’s paradise – spot roseate spoonbills, bald eagles, great blue herons, and much more native to the region. The Marathon Wild Bird Center is located at Crane Point Hammock, a hardwood hammock and natural history museum.

Kayak and explore the miles of tunnels under the mangroves. Snorkel and dive beautiful natural reefs. We have both shallow and deeper reefs and wrecks for more advanced divers. Every type of saltwater angling is available here! See dolphin and sea turtles in the wild or stop by the Dolphin Research Center or Turtle Hospital for a tour.
