  Keys were great, traffic down was fine. So, on the way down to the vacation rental, we received a call one hour before arriving that the boat slip was not available to use, this was one of the main reasons for renting this location, they did offer a slip down the street to keep the boat at, this would mean that we would have to haul all gear back and forth, not happy, we were able to use the neighbor's dock only because he was leaving the day we arrived, locations dock is not for a boat larger than 15ft, no access, home is in good condition, sliding doors do not lock on 1st & 2nd floor, pool table cannot use as it is ripped and pool sticks have no ends, ping pong table no net or paddles, freezer for bait down stairs has no shelve and does not make ices , this home is not for a fisher man with a boat larger than 15ft, found wet laundry in drier. pool in summer will not cool you off as no blockage from the sun, it was 85 or hotter the water in pool, cabinets downstairs need work, home did stay cool and was comfortable, clean sheets and towels, all utensils to cook, so we had a good time.

  Wouldn’t recommend this property if you plan on having a boat.
  Parking of boat is nearly impossible at this property. Had to walk our boat in & out. Once neighbor showed up & dropped his boat, we could not get our boat out. Pool was 98 degrees. Not very pleasant to relax.
  Patio table was very dirty, couldn’t use it.

  The house is beautiful, spacious and nice open concept. The pool in the back is perfect, bigger then in the pictures and warm. Communication from the realty company is A+, they are always available and friendly.

  We enjoyed staying in The Salty Seahorse! The interior is modern and clean. Having King size beds in each room was a treat and the twin bed in the upstairs canal side room was helpful. There was plenty of seating for our party of five in the living room. The dining room table on the street side porch had plenty of chairs and the table extends for a larger party than 6. Our kids enjoyed the new pool and the close proximity to the Cabana Club. We all enjoyed the four porches!
  
  The downstairs gameroom is an unfinished garage that looks nicer in the picture than in person, so it wasn't a room that we hung out in for watching TV.
  However, the kids enjoyed shooting pool and playing ping pong and there are TVs in all three bedrooms if you really need an extra TV room. The boat slip worked for our 17' Whaler, but docking a large boat in that corner could prove challenging if the neighbors on both sides have large boats docked at the same time. We only had to maneuver around one.
  
  This is our sixth trip to Marathon and our fifth to Key Colony Beach. KCB is such a wonderful community and the locals are friendly! They play the 1812 Overture as the sun is setting in Sunset Park every night, followed by a local song "The Islands of Marathon". During our stay they had musicians playing on Sundays from 5-7 before sunset. They also have a Farmers Market on Tuesdays from 9-2 outside of the Town Hall. We were fortunate to be there for the annual St Patrick's Day parade this year! We enjoyed great meals at Sparky's and Brutus and ice cream at Conch Custard. The kids had a blast on the Rhum Runner at The Lagoon on Grassy Key. We highly recommend KCB and this home!
